Mexico, Uncategorized

This resort took my breath away! When you first walk in to the lobby you can see the water. The resort is decorated with unique and local art work adding to the ambiance. I did a site visit here and unfortunately did not stay on the property but I would love to go back and fully immerse myself at this resort because it was that good!

LOCATION

Conrad Punta de Mita is a beachfront resort set on the Riviera Nayarit and is about 50 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport. It is about 30 minutes from the surfer town Sayulita. Punta de Mita is known for its’ chill vibes.

RESORT

The entrance is a tunnel and it is a symbol that you are going through the tunnel to connect to God and the Ocean.

The resort has an exclusive beach, three outdoor pools, accommodations with balconies overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a spa, Mexican temazcal, 24-hour fitness center, tennis courts, basketball courts, access to land and water activities. This is an EP (European Plan) resort and is not all-inclusive.

The property is very walkable and the landscape is stunning. They have about 50 gardeners – that’s how detail oriented this property is. I felt like I was in Hawaii. There is almost always a breeze which is nice on a hot summer day.

The resort is west facing so you will get to experience the incredible Western Mexican sunsets! You can even see the stars and Saturn!

POOLS

There are three pools: family pool, adult’s only pool and the kids splash pad. There’s a slide by the splash pad which looks so fun! The adult’s only pool has a swim up bar and the family pool has as infinity edge. You can rent a cabana poolside for an extra charge.

THE SPA

The spa is open from 8am to 8pm daily and is available for guests 16 years old +. Everything at the spa is an extra charge. In-room massages are available. There is a sauna, showers, jacuzzi, and indoor treatment rooms inside the spa.

The Riviera Nayarit region is known for its natural phenomena and serenity. It is a haven for relaxation and rejuvenation. It is influenced by the ancient Huichol culture of Mexico and the Conrad Punta de Mita Spa offers therapies and treatments that create reflection, balance, relaxation and self-discovery.

The spa was designed according to nature. The natural smell of the spa is lemon grass and it is so calming. There is a tree that you can talk to and it will “take a message to heaven”.

The path to the treatment rooms is inspired by a hummingbird’s nest. The double nest has a plunge pool. There is an outdoor hydrotherapy, cold and hot tub.

Another unique feature is the sweat lodge which is the Temazcal Experience. This is a self-discovery journey . It is a Temazcal ritual that the Huichol indigenous people have curated for generations. The Shaman performs a cleansing before each guest enters the Temazcal which is a dome-shaped stone structure. The dome symbolizes the womb and the experience is like you are being reborn and a circle of life. Next, an herbal steam along with chanting and meditation is performed. 24 hour advance reservations are required.

FOOD & DRINK

There are seven restaurants and bars. The culinary team is award-winning and draws inspiration from regions throughout Mexico, this resort is very authentic to Mexican culture. Tell the mixologists what you like and they will follow what flavors and adventure you like to recommend unique agave spirits, local brews and wines! We had a signature cocktail while on our site visit and it was delicious.

Mezquite is unique as it’s name means mesquite wood, the flames and smoke that char and grill. This is a beachside cuisine of American and Mexican classics. You can either dine under the stars along the ocean on the beach or in the open-air restaurant.

Did you know that you can order a floating breakfast? Such a fun unique idea to switch it up for breakfast.

Evening dinner can be prepared privately in your suite, cabana or secluded mangrove for an extra charge.

You can even have a private Zarandeado Beach Barbecue! The local fishermen arrive with the surf by about noon. The Executive Chef explains the plans for the grill then puts it on display. Lunch is prepared from sea to table. This is available for parties of 2 – 20 and needs 48 hour advance reservations. This is a very unique opportunity and I highly suggest it.

This area of Mexico is known for tequila and mezcal. There is an area called “The Agave Studio”. I highly recommend doing an agave tasting where you are hosted by a mixologist and agave expert. Learn the history, regions and flavor profiles of six unique spirits based on your preferences. It is also paired with Mexican antojitos by the Executive Chef. You can even make your own mezcal! (parties of 1-8, 24 hour advance reservations required)

Colibri Roasting Co is open early, great for when you have early excursions, and has locally roasted and freshly brewed coffee/espresso with grab-and-go pastries and sandwiches. They also sell bagged coffee, beach bags, hats and more.

There is a swim up bar and a beach bar.

KIDS CLUB

The Conrad Punta de Mita Kids Club is one of the best I have seen. There is fun for kids of all ages. They have a children’s program, kids’ room, arcade, shuffleboard, ping-pong, foosball, billiards, video games, basketball, tennis and pickle ball. There is a waterslide and splash zone too!

The kids’ club is for kids ages 5-12 and it is open from 10am – 5pm. There is an extra cost: $15 per hour per kid. If the parent is in the kids club with the kids then it is free.

The game room is free for everyone and there is no age limit.

There’s also a library/lounge for people to chill.
